Stalls and speakers confirmed for job fair

St George's Centre entrance

After much hard work by the organisers of Leeds Hidden Talents Employment Fair, we have some exciting news! We are delighted to announce that we have 15 stalls confirmed for the job fair and a trio of speakers for the employers’ section of the event.

For the job fair, event sponsors Yorkshire Water, IT firm Answer Digital, Leeds City Council, Premier Inn, KPMG and Carillion will all be present. Aside from them, the Prince’s Trust will have a stall too for anyone interested in social enterprise funding and internships, while the DWP will also be there to offer advice about finding work.

There are a handful of stallholders who are yet to confirm, but as and when they do, we’ll let you know on our blog. You can find a full list of the confirmed stallholders on our Stalls page.

Speaking up

As for the speakers for the employers’ section of the event, we have someone in to talk about the Access to Work Scheme for 15 minutes. We also have Elizabeth Guest from Aspiedent, an autism consultancy, to talk about autism awareness and the benefits of hiring autistic employees.

Finally, Mark Pickles from the National Grid will come along to talk about his own experience of hiring autistic staff. He’ll be accompanied by one such employee who will talk about the opportunities he’s been given by his present employer.

More to come

With 15 stalls already sorted and the speakers in place, we will publish more news and information about coming to the event in the coming days. With just 20 days left until we start, we look forward to showing all visitors about how great it is to hire autistic employees.
