The Leeds Hidden Talents Employment Fair is an event where autistic people looking for work or to take the next step in their careers can find out about the opportunities that are out there.

It was created by Leeds City Council in 2016, with assistance from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Autism Partnership Board. It has been held every year ever since.

It was created to help show employers that autistic people have a lot to bring to the workplace, regardless of industry or skillset. According to the National Autistic Society, only 16% of adults with an autism or Asperger’s Syndrome diagnosis are in full-time paid employment. The issue of employment is one of the biggest affecting autistic adults, which is why the fair was set up to show what they can do.
